"Fighting The Fatigue"
March 11th, 2023

Living with an autoimmune disease like Mucus Membrane Pemphigoid can be challenging. The symptoms can be both physically and mentally draining. One of the most debilitating symptoms is the chronic fatigue. It's a constant struggle to have enough energy to get through the day, let alone be productive.
As someone who has been living with this disease for years, I have had to make significant lifestyle adjustments. One of the biggest changes I made was transitioning to working almost entirely from home. Working from home has allowed me to rest when I need to, without worrying about the long commute to and from work.
But just because I work from home, it doesn't mean that I can't be productive. In fact, I have found a new passion in creating graphic art for t-shirts, logos, and print-on-demand services. I take commissions from clients and create websites and run social media marketing campaigns for small local businesses.
Creating graphic art has been a great outlet for me. It's something that I can do from the comfort of my own home, and it doesn't require me to be on my feet for long periods. It also allows me to express my creativity and use my skills to help others. I have found that when I am working on a project, I almost forget about my fatigue and pain. It's almost therapeutic.
I have been able to turn my passion for graphic design into a semi profitable business. I have created a website where I showcase my work and offer my services to clients. It's been incredibly fulfilling to work on projects that I'm passionate about and to help small businesses thrive.
Living with Mucus Membrane Pemphigoid can be tough, but it doesn't mean that you can't lead a fulfilling life. It's important to find ways to manage your symptoms, whether it's through medication or lifestyle changes. For me, working from home and creating graphic art has been a game-changer. It's given me the flexibility to rest when I need to, while still allowing me to be productive and pursue my passions.

ABOUT ME - JASON GROVES

I was born and raised in New Westminster through the 70s and early 80s. My family then moved to Hope, B.C. and I've lived here on and off since. I got married, had 3 beautiful children, got divorced and still have 3 amazing young adults. I've always been a Creative. Be it Art, Theatre, Music, etc. I spent 7 years working for Princess Cruises in the Entertainment Department:
What sort of work did I do, you might ask?
Well, you asked: Emcee, DJ, Game Show Host, Game Show Creator, Games Counselor, Sports Host, Social Host, Dance Instructor, Arts and Crafts Instructor, Comedian, Singer, Dancer, Actor, Videographer, Trivia Creator and Host, Morning Show Host, Evening Show Host, etc. etc. etc.
PLUS: all my duties revolving around running the Entertainment Department as a whole; including looking after all Guest Entertainers, Dancers, Musicians, Cruise Staff and Youth Staff.
Now, I just turned 50 and sadly I have been diagnosed with an ultra rare Auto Immune Disease called Mucous Membrane Pemphigoid with Ocular Cicatrizing Pemphigoid. In a nutshell, my body is attacking my mucus membranes in mouth, throat, scalp, nasal passage and my eyes.
Without proper treatment I will go blind.
Not good, when you're in a very visually based career ;)

If you'd like to help me out as I continue to try to work through this disease; Hire me.. pick up one of my designs or visit my GoFundMe page: every little bit helps.
